MD State Senator, 45th District
Attending AFRAM with his family from a young age, Senator Cory McCray recalls the experience vividly, “I remember my mom taking me and my little sister, and it was crowded with lots of movement. It was a really happy time, a sense of good energy and good vibes.” Senator McCray reminds us that AFRAM is more than a music festival, it is a place to come together. He emphasizes, “...this is one time that West, East and all across the city can collectively come together and enjoy themselves.” As a representative for the 45th District in Baltimore, he knows all the great things this city has to offer, “I think about the people of Baltimore City, the culture. It is a great mix. I think about how we look at food....the Reginald F. Lewis Museum…our artists and our authors.” The AFRAM festival is a place to enjoy and flourish in Baltimore’s rich African-American culture.
